Do they need you to require more of them to be more themselves?

In a nutshell, what I am asking is, "Do husbands need wives to lead them to their own strength?"

I have seen friends create weaker men/husbands not by being too nice, but by taking over everything, doing everything, and controlling everything. The men get used to them doing everything and they become lazy, weak, and don't feel needed.

I was too nice of a husband. She left me for a Doctor and a more safe and secure lifestyle. (ie: he is rich) My wife never reassured me, inspired me, pushed me, or just plain gave me the confidence I needed to make big decisions. Whenever I would look at property to buy or houses to rent out she would just put it down or not want to spend the money.

I don't think she was being too nice. She just didn't care enough about me or my ambitions.

I would say look at most successful men and you will find a strong woman behind the scenes building them up and being part of a team with one idea.

Not just husbands, be people in general are very much like electricity, they will take the path of least resistance. I do not know if being too nice is the problem, but do you do too much for him? You do not have to be ugly to him, but perhaps you should not take so much of the burden off of him. If you are willing to do everything, he no doubt is willing to let you. That is human nature. I experienced the very same thing, I did as much as I could to help take the load off of my ex and she was more than willing. I did not get someone that appreciated what I was doing, I got a spoiled and lazy wife that expected things to be done for her.

A man should have his own strength with or without a woman.

When a man has self-confidence and knows what he's about it doesn't matter what the woman is doing.

Talk to your husband sounds like you have a bit of a problem

I say, be assertive with him. Being nice is not a bad thing at all but never being dominant keeps things too quiet. Let him be himself but see if he can break out of his shell by forcing your interest a bit - cook/clean things together, spice up the sex life, have spontaneous events like going out to dinner and a movie. He'll eventually get more lively.

I didn't marry a push over and would never marry one. I married a take charge woman that doesn't try to emasculate me in the process.

wives only need to do a few things and the rest should be left up to the husband because he's stronger, smarter and knows what is best

1. clean the house properly
2. spread your legs at night
3. cook something
4. shut the eff up most of the time
