I have had some good and bad experiences. The difficulty with it is it can be a bit like Russian Roulette, in the sense the less you know about someone the more potential you have for it to go wrong! There you press the trigger and hope for the best. The easiest way of looking at it, is the less expectations you go in with it with the more you'll get out of it. Beware of friends and blind date set ups. Because that is not blind dating in the purest sense of the term, they will be allowing some of their 'knowledge' and (let's face it) assumptions about you when trying match you up. My biggest success was with my current relationship (9 years and counting!!!) It was all done through a blind date through friends, that went wrong, drastically wrong, but my partner was there on an equally disastrous date!! To the best of my knowledge our two spurned dates ended up getting together for a short while!

Do you have a blind date? ; )
I've some awkward blind dates that were like torture and I couldn't wait for them to be over with, so I finally decided that I wouldn't make lunch or dinner dates, or go to someone's house or have them come over to mine, right off the bat. What I did was first, to see if we clicked, I'd meet them for coffee. This way, if you didn't like them, it only takes a little while to have a cup of coffee, you make your excuses, and then go. If you like each other, you can stay, have more coffee, decide to go somewhere else, etc. It worked well for me.

I've had a number of blind dates over the years, some pretty decent a couple downright scary.
The best one though was set up by my mother. She had met this great guy she was sure I'd like so she invited us both to dinner.
She was right, we got along great, had tons of stuff in common and I found him very attractive.
Sadly, she had forgot to ask him if he was gay....he isn't. We're still friends and laugh about how we met all the time.

I went out on a date where we ended back up at my house - we were going to do a little kissing...the guy asks if he could get comfy and bend s over to take his shoe off. I hear velcro ripping than think to myself "Oh my this guy has on velcro shoes, I hate those things"
I WISH.
He raises up and says I took my foot off too, hope that is not a problem. He went on to tell me he had lost it as a young man. It kind of freaked me out.

Please tell me how I can get one of these blind dates. I'm incredibly unattractive. I hope that the visually impaired wouldn't notice. Really, you just don't know what it's like.
