Yes, definitely go for a checkup first. Your OB may suggest you wait at least another 6 months before getting pregnant again. I've read in several books that the safest way for you and your babies is to get pregnant 18 months apart, but not to wait any longer than 5 years for the next one. Somehow they say it helps you have healthier babies, not to mention it's healthier on your body.

Anyway, it is your life, you do what you think is best for you and your family.

Yes, it's always best to be checked out by your OB before ttc again. Also, have him/her give you prenatal vitamins. It's best to take them while ttc because folic acid is so important in early fetal development - especially in those 2 weeks before you find out you're pregnant. Good luck!
