Some people say you can be pregnant and have your period. I think if you had sex before your period and had a normal period that you are not pregnant. I think that the period "cleans" you out. So to speak. Espeically if that's the only period you have if you were trying to get pregnant. I had sex before my period and had a full period and then found out I was pregnant after my period a couple of weeks later. But I was trying to have a baby after my period. Just wondered what others thought.

YOU DO NOT OVULATE DURING YOUR PERIOD..............EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It can SEEM like conception takes place during your period because most people DO NOT KNOW about their bodies and cycles...they assume that you can because they do not understand how it really works. Everyone's cycle is different. There is a myth that woman ovulate 14 days after their period begins...but that is only an AVERAGE and each month can be different. The other thing is that sperm can live inside you for up to 5 days.... so if you are having a shortened cycle one month and you have sex right after your period and you ovulate earlier than day 14 than yes, there is a chance of getting pregnant. However, it will not be during your period. Many people think it’s possible because they do not completely understand how conception works. It might not happen right at the moment of intercourse since the sperm can live for days! If your cycle is short and you ovulate earlier than day 14 it can SEEM like conception takes place during your period...They only way to know is to know exactly when you ovulate. There are several ways to know and some are more effective than others. Some can only predict before ovulation happens and some can only predict that is has already happened. The absolute best info I can give you is to go read a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive – or not! . It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths! Even if you don't get into charting and everything....it will help you in so many ways!

If you had your period, you are not pregnant. If your last period started on July 28, you could not conceive until 14 days later or around August 10. However, sometimes bleeding can occur during pregnancy. It is not your period but you can sometimes bleed due to abnormalities of the placenta. For the most part, you cannot get your period while you are pregnant.

You can be pregnant and still have some bleeding. It may be lighter than normal or just spotting. It is not really a period but the releasing of residual blood or fluid. If you are pregnant and bleed as if having a period contact a DR you may be miscarrying.
But to answer your question No period while you are pregnant. A Period would involve ovulation, the build up of uterine lining and the sluffing of that lining. If there is a baby in there it would be sluffed too.

You could have an unusual period soon after the first period, and so the sperm can still be there..but it is highly unlikely.. If you become pregnant from the period.. I don't tihnk you can again.

All i can add to this debate is that my ex wife had her periods during the totality of her pregnancy for our 3 children. I know that does not occur that often but you see its possible and trust me ...lovely kids are there to prove it.

Everyone's body is so different, I don't think you can say one way or the other. The human body is too complex.
