If you're looking for a short story for a class or something here is a really good one. It's used in a lot of english classes because there is a lot to analyze about it. It's called "The Lesson" by Toni Cade Bambara.

I'll second "The Rocking Horse Winner." ALso, lots of stories by O. Henry are about money, esp. The Gift of the Magi. Also, the story of King MIdas

There was once a man who had a magical cup which turned tears into gold, ever greedy for more money he came up with more and more ingenious ways of making himself upset so that he could get more gold. In the end, he ended up sat on an enormous pile of gold, but he wanted more and made himself so unhappy that he comitted suicide.

Moral: Money makes you unhappy!
