Television is all about ratings! If there are not enough viewers then sponsors do not advertise on that show. That is the reason that shows get canceled. Television is a business, like everything else. All shows have polls on the popularity of the guests and Star Jones lost a lot of popularity when she said that she lost weight by exercise and diet and would not disclose why. Her viewers felt betrayed by her lack of being forthright about her having a "Medical Intervention" Star Jones knew that she was being let go long before we did and The View was allowing her to leave gracefully by announcing that she had other plans for her career. Rosie had been hired long before all this hit the news. She had been hired as lead host by the view. I checked my information out at the time by searching The View and finding out exactly what had gone on. Hope this clears a few things up.

Star was the token black lady. And I really believe thats the only reason why they had her on there, to attract black viewers. I never watched the show but when I did glance at it a few times, I liked Star's attitude. She had a different view from everyone. Now with Rosie, I guess shes the token gay person or something. Maybe they are trying to attract gay viewers. I think the ratings have actually even went down. I think it was dirty how they fired her but karma is hell and if they really did her as wrong and she makes it seem, they will get what they deserve...

I agree with you that firing Star was for ratings. I always watche the view with Star. Once Star wasn't there I stopped watching the show. Rosie has a nasty ora about her, I can't stand her or the view. I hope the view goes of the air.

Now it relies upon on what type of strive against. celeb will street strive against Rosie and it could be a good strive against yet when it were airborne dirt and dust wrestling, Rosie would have the area being 1/2 pig like she is. - I also comprehend that if there have been a sex tape of those 2 at the same time, i'd ought to computer screen it in basic terms out of interest... quite a lot like observing the aftermath of a automobile ruin.

Personally I don't care for Rosie O'Donnell. One because she thinks its OK to bash people and talk bad about others...But once someone says something about lesbians and gays, she goes crazy and says that they have violated her rights. What about Star's right to privacy? If she didn't want the world to know about how she lost the weight then that's her right...I don't think that Star left because they were going to hire Rosie...But I do think that it helped...Barbara Walters is always talking about how close they were obviously they weren't that close! Why would a friend replace a friend with an enemy? If I'm rambling please let me know

I believe it's Barbara Walters' decision as to who stays and who goes. I like Star because she was so intelligent, she has a Law Degree. I stopped watching Rosie's show after her gushing ad nauseum about Tom Cruise and being in "love" with him and then she announces she's a lesbian. You're a lesbian, fine but don't pretend guys turn you on.

Of course. Have you noticed that since Rosie got there she is slowly taken over the show.

well i think that they shouldn't have fired star but if she was bad mouthing then they had no chose but to do so but they should have gave her a warning or something but i think Rosie is doing a great job and should stay.

I absolutely agree with you. It was simply a ploy for ratings, and it was very transparent. Sad thing is, I don't like either one of them, so I've just quit watching. Doubt I'm the only one.
