It was accurately discribed to me once that I agree with totally. The Spirit side of life doesn't have "time" because they can choose when and where to be at any moment on our time line. "Time" was given to us "in body" to keep everything from happening all at once. Think about it.

Time is the key to understanding everything. We feel the passing of time, although all we are doing is placing things into our memory in a certain order, which is what we believe the order that they happen.
Time is actually variable and has a relationship with gravity as they both affect each other. we don't actually feel time speeding up or slowing down because we exist within time. Time could infact speed up, slow down or even go into reverse and we wouldn't know.
It's a bit like a film reel. It is possible to cut the reel up, or reverse the film, however the characters in the film are within the film and cannot sense any change to it as it goes.
It is however possible that part of our superconcious lives in other dimensions and therefore outside of time, and if we can contact this side of ourselves, then we may be able to transend time, although this then goes of into further realms of fantasy that we just can't prove.
If we look at our dreams, time seems to work in ways not connected to our world. In some cases, we can feel like we've been in a dream for hours when it is only a matter of minutes, so that may be a way to transend our sense of time.

When the tremors of Parkinson's disease patients become excessive, they become catatnoic (The Movie 'Awakening'). When these patients were in that state, they said that they were conscious, but it was 'frozen consciousness'. Parkinson's occurs when the dopamine producing cells in the basal ganglia are destroyed.
Dopamine is a lubricant that smoothes communication between nerve cells to smoothly execute SEQUENCES of action (Time / Intervals / Timing).
In other words, if chemically in the brain, these patients were unable to PERCIEVE time (as in intervals of time), movement ceased as well; since if time equals zero, space equals zero as well (no movement). So, due to lack of Dopamine, time freezes and they are unable to move (motionless - catatonia).
Interestingly, altered states of consciousness caused by hallucagenics almost always have something to do with dopamine levels in the brain. Poeple who go through that, almost always describe a distortion in their time PERCEPTION.
Hope that helps with your question :)

Depends on what you are doing at the time. Sitting at work for 8 hours seems to last far longer than sleeping for 8 hours!

Time is an aspect of the inter-relationship of events. In other words it is a dimension. This is a key concept of post Newtonian science, and represents a monumental change in our perception of the universe.

Time is the ultimate mystery! Where was it before it got here? Where does it go when it is gone? Time was invented to keep everything from happening at once!

Time is the duration of an event.
Our time will run out one day, but space will not.
