If the software is registered under your name, you can call Microsoft and explain the situation to them. They might be able to help you with that. By the way, I heard that the company no longer support Windows 98 so I am not sure they will have support based on your problem. Good luck.

IF your program was registered, microsoft MAY be able to help you. (They no longer support win98).
Are you sure it is NOT on the CD package?
THIS is the reason I: 1. KEEP the number WITH the disc, and 2. WRITE it ON the disc with a felt tip pen, (on the NON-READABLE side). Then If I have the disc, I have the number.

try calling microsoft and they should be able to get it for you. or you could call your computer shop where you bought the computer from :)
