Depends what it is. Money is not the most valuable resource in the world, time is. You can never get back time you lose. So, most people would rather pay money to get something now than take hours to make it themselves. That's why people eat out at restaurants so much, they would rather have the time instead of using it to prepare meals.

If it's actually something you can make yourself, I'm all for it. That's not always possible or practical though. I guess some people are just lazy, while others are totally clueless about how to do such things.

b/c it is the simplicity of being able to walk out of the store with it right there on hand. Imagine making all the clothes you wear--- that would take quite a while and in todays society peoples busy lives do not have time for that when they work full time jobs, take care of kids, cook, clean and everything else.

Sometimes of a sale, sometimes it is the convience of it all, and sometimes it is because people never learned how to use a recipie.
I think the fact that they have a price limit at times too is really hard to do too. I hope I have answered your question.

sometimes the trick is the amount of how entailed a project is...I have an rc airplane I've been working on for weeks now...it got so entailed I got discouraged/bored w/ it because the work was so meticulous and drawn out that now it just sits there about 40% er so finished heh...good luck...

Depends. i wanted a big screen TV but didnt wanna pay $2,000 for it so I tried making my own and now I have a speech problem and all my hair is burned off
