I hear a lot of republicans say that we will open ourselves up for terrorist attacks if we allow the Congress to become controlled by the democrats. Isn’t a foreign policy based upon Western views and backed by military force on a people whose whole history is based on religion (Sunni-Shiite division) an open invitation to want to fight/attack us? If I do recall the Republicans were in control of Congress 3 years prior to Sep 11. Were we kept safe? I am a former Army Officer and an Iraq Veteran. There has been no clear plan by the Bush lead Republican administration, since day one, on how we deal with Iraq. I fully support our operations in Afghanistan and would go if I had to. The current path that we are on has given radical groups the tools to recruit and the resolve to continue to fight us. Our priorities are not their (Middle Eastern) priorities. We need to allow them to develop as we have (at their own pace). Just 40 years ago in this country Blacks and Whites could not eat in the same establishments. Isn’t it about time we get some fresh ideas in our government and see it we can get back on track to being a world leader through example and not military force?

I VOTED AMERICAN. SOME DEMOCRAT AND SOME REPUBLICAN. THE PEARTIES DONT MATTER TO ME ONLY THEIR BELIEFS AND PLANS DO. WHETHER OR NOT THE POLITICANS DO WHAT THEY SAY IS YET TO BE SEEN

I was in OIFIII and not all of Islam is bad but there is a huge propraganda machine in the middle east. I dont think the muslim's in the middle east know if they hate the west because they havent been able to make up their minds. They have had dictators, Hamas, Al Quidea, and other Islamic Facists shoving this stuff down their throat and telling them if they dont belive they will be killed. "Dont trust anyone" ever herd that in a security brief? I take that to heart if someone wants my tust earn and keep but soon as you stab me in back it is on. I trust some muslims and christians and whoever but I wont take their word on anything.

100% agreed. As a fellow veteran myslef. And as for the people that claim the Islamic world is out the destroy Western peoples. That is so for from the truth. Muslims as a group are not evil. Our political machine has made it so. To justify a political nightmare. Same as during the Vietnam conflict.. "Communism is Evil" the bane of the world etc etc.

I do not believe a single american muslim or croatian, Turk, russian, etc etc. muslim has done any wrong. Quick to blame the enemy. But do not get caught in the hype-of evil muslims. Go talk to a few before judging the peoples and the religion.

Thanks
Go DEMOCRAT save USA face

Being not American, but western European, I can see how wise your words are.... I know, Europe has been accused not to take a firm stand against terrorism and those Countries threatening the peace.... but to achieve peace, we need peaceful actions, not weapons. I don't want to enter into the Republicans - Democrats debate, I just hope something will change for good

In my opinion, we should vote for the best person for each office. If the current office holder did not impress you or earn your vote, then vote for change if the challenger earned your vote.

But to blindly vote for anything - republicans, democrats, incumbents or "change" - is foolish. Vote for the best person for the job. Regardless of party, race, religion, sexual orientation, or incumbent/challenger status. Vote for the person you think will best represent you and your interests.

VOTE!

"can get back on track to being a world leader through example and not military force?"

Not as long as Radical Islam is a cancer in the world.
