You could try the System Restore which takes you back to a time when your computer was working good. Go To:
start
programs
accessories
systems tools
system restore
This process is completely reversable. And does not remove your personal files. Just go back one checkpoint at a time until your puter is working good again.

Click on Start, Then Click on All Programs, Then go to Accessories and then Click on System Tools. You will see System Restore. When you click on System Restore it will ask what you wish to do. When you restore to an earlier date you will not lose any documents you have created, but you will lose any programs that you have installed. Hope this helps.

You have to do a system restore. This is done by clicking on strart. Then on all programs. Next accessories, then system tools, to system restore. Click on system restore and then click restore to earlier time. Pick a date when you know your setting were correct and then restore.

It's called "Restore".
Go back to start-up, then click on "My Computer"
Next click "Control Panel" Be sure to read all the options that pop up on your screen as Restore isn't very prominent. Then just do whatever the comp. says to do in order to restore your comp. to a previous date.
