for starters ignore Marcus' response...green tea does NOT cause cancer, it prevents carcinogens from being metabolized. Ideally you should only drink 8 ounces of green tea daily for the health benefit. If you are drinking it more often, then it can cause stomach upset, especially if on an empty stomach. Try drinking a glass after you eat. If this doesnt work, wait about a week and slowly introduce greeen tea back into your system. Its possible that you have developed an intolerance to it.

I find green tea makes me feel nauseous when I drink it on an empty stomach even if I brew it for ony 2 minutes. Then if I eat something I feel fine but I don't like the idea that it has this effect on me. Not sure I can believe that it is toxins being released....I had the same with drinking black tea (with milk) on an empty stomach and had to eat something with it, like a biscuit or toast. I still have not had a logical explanation for this.

You might be making it too strong. It's got some caffeine in it, so if you make it too strong or drink it when you are hungry, then it can upset your stoma ck, just like normal tea and coffee. Or it's just not your cup of tea. Some people don't like the taste of it. It hasn't got anything chemical in it, so it shouldn't be a problem to drink it, but if your body doesn't want it then don't force it. Or if you keep drinking it, then your body may get use to it, and you will not feel sick.
I used to drink green tea all the time but didn't drink English tea much, because it used to give me headache and made me sick. But as I kept on drinking it, I got use to it, so I drink it every day now.

Green tea is very acidic and can be upsetting, especially when drinking it on an empty stomach. Weakening the teas strength by adding more water to it will help.
As for being good for you, Green tea is Carcinogenic in large amounts, ie: it causes cancer. Oesophageal cancer is the largest killer disease in China and that is where the largest amounts of Green tea are drunk.
Having said that, the Tannins in Black tea are also very carcinogenic, so always drink Black tea with milk, because this binds to the tannins and makes them safe.

Make it less strong and put some Manuka honey ( only a little )
into it, it is good for your digestion !
Maybe change the brand of green tea that you are drinking !
I get organic from the healthshop because it has no chemicals in it !
Good luck !

Green tea encourages the body to release toxins (caffine, smoke, alcohol etc) The toxins can cause headaches, tiredness and nausea as they leave the body. It sounds like you are flushing these toxins out so encourage them to leave faster by drinking lots more water.

Same here with my wife and her sister. They have been on it for months. I do know that tea and coffee can cause nausea if it is too strong. maybe the same with green tea, although there is no caffeine in green tea. Puzzling

I've heard that if you eat/drink anything every day, it might develop an intolerance.
