Nancy Pelosi has already said that if she gets to be Speaker of the House, she will raise taxes across the board for everyone. Why would anyone vote for this?

Because this is how Democrats think:

Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton announce that every family will receive a $500 annual rebate in the form of a check because they want to fight poverty. The looneys on the left thunderously applaud and wet their pants.

However, someone with some sense asks: Where is that money coming from? Well, says Hillary and Nancy, you will have to pay $1000 extra in taxes so that we can then process it at the federal level, take our cut, waste it in bureaucracy, and then we magnamously send you a check for $500. See, we care about you.

The crows breaks into a cheering frenzy.

The sensible person says: Wouldn't it have been better for me to have kept my $1000 to begin with?

The sensible men is beaten by the angry mob.

And how else is the National debt, now at the highest level in HISTORY, going to be brought down. I find it a little ironic that historically Republicans run up huge deficits, and when voters say they have had enough and vote for change that the people voted in to do the change has to raise taxes to bring the debt down. And historically that is Democrats. Why would anyone vote for a greater debt being passed down to the next generations is a better question.

Because of the irresponsible spending of the govt for the last 6 years, it doesnt matter who is in office. A Presidents first budget doenst come until 10 months after he takes office his first budget results come 1 year after that. In that 22 months we went from a 230 billion surplus to 400 billion YEARLY defecit. Since 2001, our accumulated debt has gone from about 5 trillion to well over
8 trillion. Thats 8,000,000,000,000. what is the the common denominater ? A GOP senate, congress and President. THIS GOVT OVERSPENDS ITS BUDGET BY 2 BILLION DOLLARS EVERY DAY, and that doent even include the cost of the war which is a seperate budget of 90b a year. For every 3 dollars the Govt takes in it spends 4 and borrows 1 more. 80% of our new debt is bought by countries like communist China and Saudia Arabia. Bush has allowed Congress to spend like drunken sailors and now the check is about due

why would anyone take the side of the rich (like you are doing) raising taxes will hardly effect working people it will effect those making over 1 million a year...why are you trying to protect people that already have their piece of the pie..and usually at 20 other Americans expense.
Fear is all you guys are about but when measured against reality it shows there is really nothing to fear but this current White House and Republican controlled Congress and Senate.

What a stupid question. She never said that....all the dems have said is they will roll back the tax cuts on the rich. And considering the HUGE deficits republicans have created and the out of control spending on war...it's a good thing.

Thank you for mis-quoting!
I think everyone should pay their fair share, not the middle class pay all and the wealthy pay none!
Or are you the type that thinks we should pass the cost onto our grandchildren?
