My mom was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid when she was in highschool. She has hypertension and suffered from pre-eclampsia and wound up having to have c-sections. The pregnancies overall were fine though. She's been taking medications for the thyroid problem since College and still to this day. The main problem with the thyroid disorder, she still hasn't been able to lose all of the weight she gained from the pregnancies (I'm 26 now...lol). Just take the meds the doctor recommends and you'll do fine. Congrats by the way!

You should always ask many questions, if you have any, of your doctor. Asking keeps you informed and helps you manage your stress level too. No reason to worry, just ask questions. I am sure your doctor will take good care of you. If you need medication, ask if there is an alternative treatment, sometimes there are. I am not sure about thyroid though. But if so, and they work well enough, it could at least get you through your pregnancy. Just remember, if there is something you do not understand, ask questions. Most doctors will tell you and explain your medical terms to you if you ask. Being well informed is a very good thing!!!

When I was pregnant with my son, I was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism. They put me on medication early on and when my son was born, he had a swollen goyter (throat). I had to have an emergency C-section because they thought with a swollen throat, it would be hard and dangerous to have him naturally. It turned out not to be as bad as they thought. He had to be on medicine for a month but now he is fine. The cause of his goyter was because of me being on to high a dosage for too long. Make sure your levels are looked after very closely. The doctor said if they hadn't caught this, I could've had a heart attack. My advice to you is to not take the medication unless you have to but make sure you are monitored closely and have a doctor that knows what they are doing.

Your doctor will know best because she knows how your pregnancy is progressing. If you are really concerned, write your questions down and ask her at your next appointment. You shouldn't worry if you don't have to. Good luck to you.

At 2PM, TSH is at its lowest element. you ought to attempt as your physician counseled for some days and in case you sense the hypo indications coming returned you ought to call the physician and ask if perchance you ought to chop up the 50mcg pill and take 25 mcg until eventually the retest. appropriate to the constipation.....try including walnuts or almonds in cereal each and each morning or in a salad at lunch time. this would help. I do tis daily, alongside with taking a fiber complement and a pair of teaspoons of organic and organic apple cider vinegar in ice tea in the previous dinner. do no longer take any herbs mutually as pregnant.
