Does anyone have any advice on how to get started? I have all of the equipment required, I need to know who to contact, where to get work and how I can sell my material.
All and any help would be appriciated.

I work as a coordinator for a television company and I get lots and lots of demos landing on my desk. In truth they get filed and forgotten about. What I would advise you to do is firstly get a website and demo together. Make tracks for different types of programme: Docs, childrens, drama, comedy....
I would then advise you to find independant television companies near you and make contact with them directly. Try and arrange a informal chat with the executive producer or directors. If you are successful then they will remember you and contact you that way. There are so many people trying to get into this industry you need to make an impression with them face to face!
try finding indies on the broadcast website or production base because not all companies are in the usual directory.

What you'll need is a portfolio or rather, some tracks which can show your ability. As a suggestion, take a coupel of obscure movies and rescore the opening and closing credits, or a scene or two in the middle. Make these your "demo tapes" and then send them to movie producers. You can get addresses for movie studios on the net.

Make a few demos and get together a resume. Start at your local tv stations get your name out there.

i'd get photos of Deaner wearing his blue tights and deliver them to his relations and acquaintances.. then placed them on youtube.. then submit a billboard close to the position he works.. then i'd fairydust Nubs.. get lulu all the blue eyeshadow she ever needs get Sil all the steak he will ever want.. and wrap my young children in bubblewrap and finally heal Jackpots shanking wound he were given in reformatory!!
