Since the carpets create dust, you can either get rid of them or do a little cleaning every day so it doesn't pile up. I personally like my toes to be comfortable, so I would go with the latter.

Anyone who spends more than 2 or 3 hours a week on dusting and cleaning is wasting their life. We are only here once and there are more important things to do.

I suggest you have a talk with yourself about what your priorities are. No-one's suggesting you let the place turn into a tip but a lot of women (and some men) attach far too much importance to house-cleaning. I should know - I was once one of them. Once you realise that it's simply a substitute for controlling other parts of your life, you can gradually let go and soon you won't even notice a bit of mess. Honest.

I am one of those people who thinks that a good vacing twice a week will do, and only move furniture on occasion. Also, my mum's idea. Dust tables, etc, first. The dust will fall, then the vac picks up.
I good rule, fast clean a little here and there and throughly clean one or two rooms, two or three days a week. That ought to cut your work a great deal.

Rid of the carpets and get laminate flooring then. Sweep and clean every couple of days to keep the dust at bay.

#1- Make sure everyone is pulling their weight including hubby and the kids.Assign chores and expect them to be done.

#2- You simply must clean your kitchen every day- or just eat out!!

#3- Work on one room a day besides the kitchen.Keep going all through the week and then just start again. The more you keep up with things, the less there is to do.

Good luck

have the air ducts cleaned out, they're remit less dust into the air, which means less settling on your furniture. also use a high quality vaccum that remits less dust back into the room, and traps it all, and gets all of the dirt and dust out of the carpets. you may also want to invest in an air purifier.
