I think people have a tendency to believe in their own uniqueness.
I think it is also made worse by the way there seems to be so much egotism now.
The sad thing is that when anybody is asked to show what they can do they never really appear to have that much to offer.
You might try looking at Yahoo Answers it is possible you could see a good example of this.
When it is considered what could be achieved on this site and yet you still seem to get people with a lot of ego whom never really have much to offer.
In my view a lot of these have got Blogs but still do not seem to be doing much that is inspirational with them.

I think that everyone has thought of themselves better than someone at one point in their lives. Then there are those people who always act like they are better than everyone. You know there are people in this society that want to raise their ego by acting or thinking they are better than others, those are the self-centered people. But you know that saying "there will always be someone better than you", and that is not true, because we all stand at the same level in this world. So with people that always act like this, just ignore them.

Some people are prettier than others, have better bodies than others, richer than others, and smarter than others. Because of that, they think they are better.
We are ALL good at something better than someone else but that does not mean that we should think we are better than others.

because people who think this way are shallow and so full of themselves. i don't think of myself as being superior to everyone else but at the same time, there are others who insist on bragging on how great they are and all that bravado. i try to be as good a person as i can be and not get so far up people's arses. rather than for me to be better than everyone else, i concerntrate not on pleasing myself but others and yet not rubbing it in people's faces because to them it is off-putting.

I am from New Orleans and here the typical Creole girl like me is considered superior to dark skin girls. We were raised to believe this crap!!! However I am not that way at all. Its terrible the way they treat dark skin people. We are all Black and they believe we are superior to them. It's just a bunch of bullshit!!!

It is called ethnocentricity. Or the belief that one's own culture is superior to others. They analyze other cultures by the standards of their own......which will make their analysis bias or conflicted.
