I am pregnant. I had my period on July 19. I started to get sick in the middle of August and found out I was pregnant early in September. My doctor said I conceived on August 2nd. I wasn't finished with my period until the 23rd or 24th of July. I had planned to have a baby so we started trying after my period. It just seems that I got pregnant really quick. Has this happened to anyone else and does anyone know how fertile you are after your period? I am usually a couple days late when I have a period. So I am not exactly 28 days. Please let me know.

You ovulate ROUGHLY on day 14 of your cycle; day 1 being the first day of your period, so it makes sense that you got pregnant on that date.

You most fertile 10-14 days after your period, however with no contraception it can happen at any time. With both my children i became pregnant in the 10-14 day period. the doctor cant be exact when you conceived it is just a rough guess. Good luck

Every women as a different level of fertility. But generally its after your period. But we are all different. Even though I had been having 28-30 cycles, I didn't conceive until day 20 of my cycle instead of day 14 as the general rule. This is according to two ultrasounds thus far, one at 9.5 weeks and the other at 22 weeks.
Does it matter? you're pregnancy, so why you sweating it. Just go with it, because none of it matters anyway...the baby will come when its ready.

You are more fertile after your period (normally, although you can get pregnant at any time) I started trying for a baby about 2-3 weeks after my periodin january 05 and it wasnt until just after my next period that i got pregnant so i must have ovulated a bit earlier than i thought. i think the normal time is about 10 days after your period. but sperm can live in your body for 5 days i think so that might account for some of it.

Your most fertile between 7-14 days after your period. That's when the egg is in the Fallopian tube. After 14 days it moves down into your uterus and the lining starts to prepare itself for braking down or the implanting stage. Its like that for all women. Google 'fertile days for conception' there are hundreds of sites you can read up on it more scientifically.

'Normally' women ovulate 14 to 16 days after the first day of their previous period. That's when you are 'fertile' - but sperm can live for approx 3 days inside your body so this extends the window of opportunity.

there's a calendar calculation to that when you are fertile after your period, but don't worry that's quite normal. Sometimes it happend that you've been already pregnant and you still have your period. I've know many women that they are already pregnant but they still have their monthly period for 2-3 months...but they have a healthy baby...congrats!

As u can tell from the answers it can vary from person to person. You can get kits that tell you when you personally are most fertile by taking your temperature etc. Congrats on your good news! For those people not planning on a family if in doubt always use protection!

Your most fertile time is when you are ovulating normally exactly in between your periods but the human body is a complex thing so who knows!!

you're at your most fertile about a week after the end of your period - so it sounds right and its doesnt matter how regluar your cycle is in that sense bcos its always about 5-8 days after teh end of your period taht u start ovulating.
congrats on your good news!
