your doctor sounds like an idiot. I do not believe you have anything to worry about, it is most likely it is a virus, but your doctor sounds like he is being far too dismissive. Go and see another doctor and get a second opinion, this is your right. Also, I have found that rich food such as milk can really upset a baby when they are sick. although it may not feel like a good idea, it is important to get plenty of liquid such as water and replace the minerals lost by getting a mineral replacement formula from your doctor. overall, I certainly think you should see another doctor.

As well as the causes listed so far (ie wind, eating too much, eating too fast) the reason it happens in babies is that the valve at the top of the stomach which closes to keep stomach contents down for adults doesn't close properly in a baby as it isn't fully developed. If you aren't already, change bubs nappy before the feed, not after, and keep them upright for half an hour after the feed if possible. Also, make sure the nappy isn't tight around their belly and avoid clothes with waistbands which can put pressure on the stomach. If baby is gaining weight normally, then the vomiting isn't causing bub any probs. I suggest using plastic backed bibs whenever bub is awake, and carrying a cloth nappy with you when you go out with your baby...and lots of papertowel at home for cleaning the floor!! :-) If baby isn't gaining weight there is medication that can be prescribed swhich is supposed to help stop the vomiting but it's best if you can avoid these.

I am a mother of 2 girls and have never had this problem with them. However, my best friend's baby had that problem and it ended being some sort of acid reflex disease. I would definitely get another doctors opinion because your baby should not have a virus that causes vomiting on and off for six weeks. Use your motherly instincts. If your posting here to get help for your child, then you know something is not right and you need to follow your instincts and go see another doctor. Please.

I always thought you should wait until 1 yr old to give infants MILK !
That said take her back to the doctor or a different doctor 6 weeks is to long for a virus!
Also why not put her back on Formula or Pedisure til shes older.

my son had a milk protein allergy. You should have him checked for this. He also cannot digest milk when he lays down. If he has milk after about 9, he has the projectile vomiting also. I would def talk to a dif doctor if yours is not taking the vomiting seriously.

Allergic to the dairy milk? Could be. It makes you throw up get bloated and fart and occasion diarrhea. Especially there is no fever present.
Try apple juice by juicey juice. Can she have that or Grape Cranberry juice. Juicey Juice does not contain extra sugar in it. All 100% Fruit Juice. Just read the label/package.

My little brother was doing that, he had to have surgery. Rub your baby's stomach and if you feel a sausage shaped bulge then take him to emergency room or another doctor. Not sure what its called but has something to do with the development of the intestines.

I would posibly have her checked for Pyloric Stenosis. It is not common in girls but it has been known to happen. If you do a search for it you will get more info. And I agree either go to a differnt Dr. or go to the ER.

It could be something in your milk. Try cutting dairy and wheat out of your diet and give it a week to see any improvement.
