Really I have been paying attention but still, by the looks of yahoo answers, me and most people are not totally clear about the outcome terrorists are striving for. Have they put out a mission statement? Is the whole terrorism strategy getting the desired outcome? If terrorists were out to cause suffering for all Muslim people I think their strategy worked.

From a formal Islamic Fatwa, signed by multiple leaders of various Salafist and Wahhabist terrorist sects in 1998:

On that basis, and in compliance with God's order, we issue the following fatwa to all Muslims:

The ruling to kill the Americans and their allies--civilians and military--is an individual duty for every Muslim who can do it in any country in which it is possible to do it, in order to liberate the al-Aqsa Mosque and the holy mosque from their grip, and in order for their armies to move out of all the lands of Islam, defeated and unable to threaten any Muslim. This is in accordance with the words of Almighty God, "and fight the pagans all together as they fight you all together," and "fight them until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in God."

This is in addition to the words of Almighty God "And why should ye not fight in the cause of God and of those who, being weak, are ill-treated and oppressed--women and children, whose cry is 'Our Lord, rescue us from this town, whose people are oppressors; and raise for us from thee one who will help!'"

We -- with God's help -- call on every Muslim who believes in God and wishes to be rewarded to comply with God's order to kill the Americans and plunder their money wherever and whenever they find it. We also call on Muslim ulema, leaders, youths, and soldiers to launch the raid on Satan's U.S. troops and the devil's supporters allying with them, and to displace those who are behind them so that they may learn a lesson.

Almighty God said "O ye who believe, give your response to God and His Apostle, when He calleth you to that which will give you life. And know that God cometh between a man and his heart, and that it is He to whom ye shall all be gathered."

Almighty God also says "O ye who believe, what is the matter with you, that when ye are asked to go forth in the cause of God, ye cling so heavily to the earth! Do ye prefer the life of this world to the hereafter? But little is the comfort of this life, as compared with the hereafter. Unless ye go forth, He will punish you with a grievous penalty, and put others in your place; but Him ye would not harm in the least. For God hath power over all things."

Almighty God also says "So lose no heart, nor fall into despair. For ye must gain mastery if ye are true in faith."

Yes and no. Yes in the event that they could support us combat the warfare rather of waving white flags, and watching for " significant and know-how' discussion. Listen, those humans( Arab's) are gambling cat and mouse with us. They do not need the assets, potential or the nerve to combat us within the open, conventionally- they're combating a part- assed guerrilla variety warfare-fare, that might move on for many years and many years. Why as probably the most strong nation on the earth will we enable those mice to nibble at us randomly, whilst we spend billions to safeguard our selves from lone suicide bombers?!? The Japanese in WW2, could combat and die to the final, they had been as relentless as Al Quiada. It used to be now not till we satisfied their Emperor, after 2 atomic blasts, that the Japanese humans as a entire could stop to exist, except they surrendered, they did. That warfare, as this one could have long past on a long time due to the fact they easily could want some thing to threaten their very life, as a humans, earlier than they could give up. We have the assets to finish this warfare, to drive them to give up Osama and Al Quiada, , we can preserve to limp approximately like a huge King Kong, looking to seize the mice that torment us, sacrificing a thousand right here 25 there, daily till they little by little topple us to the bottom. They recognize this and they're giggling at us. It is time to depend the toll they've exacted upon us in lives and financially, it's time to undertaking that target and ask our selves , how a lot more are we inclined to lose of our OWN humans and our possess assets? Then we will reply the query as soon as and for all, 'whilst will this terror finish?' When WE finish it. Note: Another factor to recollect is that this warfare will move directly to impact our kids or even prehaps their kids, are we inclined to undertaking this unto them?

Well Osama himself talks about liberating the arab homeland from the crusaders (Which means the western world) and to bring down the infidels regimes (The ruling Saudi monarchy for example) and liberate Palestine (which means wipe Israel from the map).
Then they want to punish everyone who, according to them, have humiliated or offended the prophet (Denmark for the cartoons of Muhammed, and women who dont wear Burqas for example).

Then of course we have everything from local terrorist groups like Abu Sayaf in the Philippines who wants to create an Islamic state in the South Philippines. We have different groups who wants to impose Sharia laws in Indonesia etc. etc.
Like so many other groups there are different goals for Islamic terrorism depending which group we talk about.

It's about oil and it's about money. We are not fighting "terrorist" in Iraq. Terrorism is a idea not a person or group of people that can be killed. There are 1.8 billion in our world that follow Islam. Why would anyone in their right mind think we should nuke them and kill them all.? I would not. Evil lies in the hearts of mankind. Around the world and in the hearts of many we have sown hatred. What we as a nation of God fearing "Christians people" have sown we will reap in the end. In Iraq there are between 450,000 and 650,000 civilians dead. They are in fact "liberated". No one knows how many were in fact "terrorist". No one.

The goals of islamic terrorism are world domination, sharia law, and death or submission for all non-muslims. There will never be a long term peace with them. Their culture does not believe in compromise, and their holy book demands the world-wide spread of islam "by the sword" if necessary. We can only win by controlling them and killing those who do not want to be contained. And all immigration to the west must be stopped, or they will eventually outnumber us and vote themselves into power. This is serious. I do not want my descendents living under muslim rule. I will only believe in "moderate" muslims when I see them turning in ALL extremists (by my definition, not theirs) in their midst, whether it is a no-name terrorist hiding among them or the leader of their mosque.

Something like this:

1. Force the West to stop supporting moderate regimes in the Middle East and Islamic World, withdraw aid to Israel and remove its troops from Afghanistan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and other states
2. Intimidate moderate governments in the region. Force the governments out of power, or direct them to implement extreme islamist policies, such as the veiling of women, closure of schools, imposition of sharia justice and other edicts similar to what happened in Afghanistan.
3. Support and influence Islamist movements further afield, such as in Nigeria, Sudan, Algeria, Philippines, Kashmir, Russia and Indonesia.
4. Destroy the State of Israel, either through conventional military action if it can radicalise the regimes of Israel's neighbours, or weapons of mass destruction, or by influencing Israel's arab minority (who have much higher birth rates)
5. Not allow itself to be distracted by, or undermined, by other competing influences in the Middle East, such as secularism or shiite Iran
