I'd have to say the word nice really bothers me. It's an adjective that's positive but basically tells you nothing else. It can be used in such a condescending way. Why can't you use a word that actually tells me something! He's such a nice guy.

That's right in line with "you're just like my little brother."

There is no word I hate, as a matter of fact, I kind of love them all. Words are so cool in of themselves, what makes them annoying are the people using them as opposed to how they are using them.

To be honest, I even kind of like misuses and non words, like "you are aggravating me" or "alot". They act as a stroke on a painting so rich with details. When you read something like that it helps you compose a portrait of the writer/speaker, "don't it"?

I hate the word "kudos". This word used to appear in dumb letters that people would write to People Magazine, and other useless publications that you will find in a doctor's office. Then it crept into our spoken language. There is no reason for anyone to use this stupid word.

irregardless

Looked it up and I now stand corrected that it "is a word" but regardless of that fact, I don't like the word!

"The most frequently repeated remark about it is that "there is no such word." There is such a word, however. ... Its reputation has not risen over the years, and it is still a long way from general acceptance."

I hate the use of the word "slept" when you're talking about just basic sex.
Like that commercial for that 10 items or less show. He says "slept" and they didn't sleep. There wasn't even a bed.
It just irks me, you know?

I hate it when some one answers me "What?" It makes it seem like they don't wanna be bothered. And when someone puts the word "like" between every other word in their sentence.
