I am sure the soldiers would report that things are going well.. Id say things were going well also if I survived another day while several others are killed.

Believe the soldiers. If you are luck enough to know one personally, talk to them and thank them for their service.
If you don't know one personally, there are hundreds of blogs from soldiers, some deployed in Iraq, some who have returned, some who are veterans from past military service. Read their words. They will tell you that Iraq is no cakewalk, but that it is certainly not as futile and worthless as the biased media and the "give up the fight" anti-war crowd would like you to believe.
Here is a link to these blogs. Just pick a few out at random. You will get some good viewpoints of what is really happening over there.

If you are a rabid anti-war liberal wingnut, be forewarned. Most of these soldiers will be giving you information and views that are in direct contradiction to the stuff you see on the nightly news and read on liberal blogs. You may not want to muddy your world view with differing opinions.

I believe the soldiers who are there in person on the front lines. The media is biased & politically motivated. I was in Iraq the first time we were there in the early 90's. We didn't get the job finished then because we were pulled out. As you can see, that didn't solve anything. A lot of good has been done in Iraq & it's a shame that we don't see more soldiers interviewed on air to hear their first hand experiences.

Your soldiers are being screened when they talk to family and friends. They are instructed not to inform anyone of anything going on there. Of course they are going to say things are going well. When they come home, then they will tell you the truth of what is going on. War is always ugly no matter what. I believe what I see, not what I hear. You should be careful as to do the same. Good luck and GOD bless.

Where are you hearing that soldiers report things are going well? Have you been listening to Rush Limbaugh?
Everything I have seen indicates that the soldiers are demoralized, don't know what their goal is, have no idea why they're there and are completely disgusted with the whole affair. I think you've been misinformed about the general climate.

I would believe our soldiers. They are the ones that are actually there. I definitely wouldn't believe people that sit on their butts all day hiding behind their computers while criticizing them.

It makes it very hard to understand I agree. I think the media shows only the bad....never any of the good things. I have also heard the service men talk of things they are doing there. Such as building schools, hospitals. How appreciative they are there for what are men are doing & we never see that side of it.
