It seems that our troops have been remarkably successful in Iraq and casualties relatively low by a historical perspective. Yet the war is often portrayed as a disaster because the enemy goes on widespread killing sprees of innocent civilians. Yet Iraqi civilians continue to rise to the occasion and sign up for the Iraqis military and police, recognizing that their freedom is worth fighting and even dieing for....yet our media never misses an opportunity at telling the story just as the terrorists would like---a disaster that we need to get out of.
Do you think the same press that gleefully reports the supposed disaster in Iraq will quickly annoint a Democrat victory in this election as a terrorist victory in Iraq (thanks to their help!)?

It will be perceived as a wise change of course.
Iraq is a mess. It's a civil war by most measures. We give the best training to the Iraqi military and police, but they perform very poorly.
Active duty officers are calling for a change of course they want Rumsfeld to resign, Bush plans on keeping him for the next 2 years. You've seen the news, and the recently retired generals who say we need new leadership. A Democrat Congress is the only way the stubborn Bush administration can be forced to change course.

This is pure spin and makes no sense. More the 90 members of the press have been killed in Iraq.

A victory by the Democrats will reward the terrorists in Iraq the same as when Bush steps down.
Pretty awesome that 4 dead military personnel a day is politically viable for our Dubya.
The news we see is vetted and censored by military. We are not seeing the same type of news coverage we saw in the Nam.
If anything, the news shown to us is over-emphasized, over-repetitious. Iraq battle news should come on page 14 of the newspaper and just before the sports segment on the evening newscast.
Without a draft, without a declaration of war, without a commitment by the military to do it without outsourcing, we are too absorbed with a little civil war in the Middle East and letting the world pass us by.

As a former Army Officer and an Iraq Veteran I feel we need to rethink our policy on the Middle East. We are trying a policy of political coercion through force on a people whose whole history is based on war. They won’t bend b/c all they know is to fight and their religion tells them that's what they should do. We have had no clear plan on how to deal with or what our final objectives are in Iraq other than find weapon of mass destruction (that weren't there) and now the message is to stop the spread of radical islam (sounds a lot like stop the spread of communism in Vietnam). We need fresh ideas and a new approach. I support our soldiers and all they do day-to-day around the world. We are in Iraq for the wrong reasons and we are not going to solve the Sunni Shiite issue with democracy... that is secondary to them religion is first. Our world view and priorities in the US are not the same as those in the Middle East. Let change come today!

If you had lost a child in the war in Iraq what would you think? Yes I am voting as I always do and I'll vote for the Democrat. Maybe just maybe no one else's Son or Daughter will have to die. Iraq did not attack us on 9/11 O Soma bin Laden did.
