No. They don't. Only a judge can legally take away a parent's rights to their children. And a judge will take other things into consideration in addition to nonpayment of child support before deciding whether or not to sever parental rights.

Unrelated.

That said, a better way to state the full fact(s) is that "if a non-custodial parent:

Is not involved with their child at all (0%)
Does not pay any child support
(usually) Represents a danger to the child because of sexual abuse crimes, drug and alcohol abuse, etc.

AND

The custodial parent remarries, etc. and there is a new step-parent who is willing to adopt, (or grandparents in some cases)

Then a judge MIGHT find it in the child's best interest to terminate a parental right. Usually only with all of those items.

Then if there is another person

I doubt that it's automatic, but the parent would probably lose his/her right of visitation; definitely would lose right of custody. If a court rules the child is neglected and in need of supervision, then yes, the state could start legal proceedings to take the child away from the parents and put it up for fostercare/adoption.

Non payment can land you in prison. In connection with that you lose the right to vote, own or possess a firearm, get a passport, hold public office, and are limited in the kinds of jobs an ex-con can qualify for. That will also figure in the procedings if the other parent decides to petition the court to terminate parental rights. It is sort of a lose, lose, lose, lose situation all around.

No they don't lose their rights to the child, but they can go to jail for non payment and also they can have the visitation rights taken away as well. I know this for a fact as it happened to my ex. He not only went to jail he also lost his visitation rights to see his daughter.

As far as the license goes, that is most of the time as a last resort and they will pull any and all license that you have no matter what they are. Drivers, fishing, hunting, business license. This not only applies to the men but the women out there as well as there is women that have to pay support as well. I know I did pay it myself for 5 months and then got my son back.

Child support is an obligation, not an admission fee

You had the kid, you support the kid it is that easy.

You had the kid, you should spend time with the kid and the other parent should never use the child as a weapon

no it is not true, or necessarily true

not paying child support is a crime in all 50 states, so while the person who isnt paying child support can be arrested when he goes to pick up his kid, it has no bearing on his actual visitation schedule unless the police choose to incarcerate the person

Depends who's asking... fortunately for the nonpaying parent support and visitation are completely separate (at least in my state) unfortunate for the parent who has to raise a child completely financially on their own.

Not necessarily. There are other factors that get taken into consideration. The court will take into account these factors when making a decision if you were to take it that far. What state are you living in?

Unfortunately, no. I'm going through that right now. You have to have the courts terminate their rights, with good reason (ie, they are a drug addict or otherwise unfit) and the other parent can still fight it. Sucks.
