I don' live in Missouri, but I think I have some idea of what your ballot proposal is about. It addresses government funding of embryonic stem cell research via cloning.
There is very little private sector research anywhere in the world being conducted on embryonic stem cells because there is no evidence that embryonic stem cells are useful for curing any disease. If the private sector, venture capital, sees no reason to fund this research, why should citizens be compelled to fund it? Why should we vote for the government to be in the business of killing us?
Stem cells obtained from humans, without killing them, are currently being used to help many types of disease and show great future promise. They are umbilical or spinal stem cells.
Hope this helps.

Let's put it this way .
You own a --------- company and you have an idea .
If the idea shows a 50% chance of coming to fruit in a reasonable amount of time and at a reasonable expense , you finance it .
If it's going to take A long time , cost extreme amounts of money and may fail miserably , you suck someone else into paying for it .
In this case , you make large donations to some politicians and they try to pass off the bill to the government .

I am against it, every study I've seen does not give credit to it as a positive angle of research, my mother has Parkinson disease and there are many other researches out there that are closer to a cure than stem cell, thats just insane. Promising that if democrats get in offer they are guaranteed a cure is sick and twisted....
