I'm just curious because I live in Australia and wanted to know which other countries get those calls. I get them almost once a week but telemarketers in generally annoy me.

Well I don't have a home phone line anymore and it's been wonderful no more telemarketers. I live in the US and yes before I got rid of my home line I would have Indian people call me trying to sell me stuff and sometimes their accent would be so harsh I couldn't even understand most of what they said, even if I had wanted to listen to what they had said. I never got it, no American is going to buy something over the phone if they sound foreign and speak broken English.

I'm in Australia so I got caller I.D. We don't answer any calls that come up private - that is the telemarketers. I told mum to leave a message and ring her back when she asked why none of her children will answer the phone. Can't wait for the "do not call" register.

In the US the Indian telemarketers call all the time. And they make up English names too.

sign up for the No call registry even if it really is equipped in Canada. It has stopped lots of the telemarketers. you are able to also get caller id or call blockading and document the numbers.
