hit on start> all programs >accessories >system tools >
system restore .then hit on next click on a date to go back befor the virus then hit next wait for the restore to be done but this will not fix the problem you need to scan for virus and remove it with ur antivirus & also update ur antivirus .

You go to the start menu, all programs, accessories, system tools and then system restore. Click in the circle besides "restore my computer to an earlier time", click next. Choose a point and click next, then follow the instructions. Your system will be restored to earlier time before the virus. But remember that doesnt get rid of the virus.

You cannot use windows restore to return your PC to a state prior to getting a virus!!
The virus is there, so must be dealt with using either an emergency anti-virus boot disk or, as a last resort, reformat using the windows setup disk and reinstall windows.

You probably can't if you mean System Restore; viruses and spyware infect all your old system restore points and you really need to delete them to get the virus off your pc.
Or do you mean restore back to factory settings? It depends on who sold you the pc; contact them for instructions.
Otherwise post back with more details. What settings have been altered?

yep ^ if you're having problems getting as far as windows tho, you can do it by pressing F8 when the black screen with white writing comes up on bootup and restore to a last known good restore point
