CD ROMs and DVD ROMs cannot read DVDs. To read a DVD or Write it you need a DVD-ROM, DVD-RW or a combo Drive. Operating Systems has nothing to do with it. Using the software available along with Win XP Pro you can write data CDs.

One thing yopu can do is to Rip the DVDs into DivX or Xvid Or MPEG4 movies and burn them into CDs.

A CD burner will NOT burn DVDs.

Also, you can't just burn a DVD straight.
You have to get some software that will rip it for you so that it will play right.

you will need a dvd burner.they are pretty cheap, under a hundred.the nero program that came with mine works great.but the movies that are protected you will need dvd decrypter and dvd shrink to help copy.not all are protected but the newer ones are.good luck.
