Dogs are better, they are usually more affectionate, and are great companions/lap warmers.

I've had both, but I think it boils down to two things: Poop and Noise.
Poop - cats don't have to be walked. Now allegedly some small dogs can be trained to use a litter box, but I've not seen it done yet.
Noise - cats will meow at 3am because they want to play. But dogs are much louder and bark far more often. I can go days without knowing if the cat is actually in the house.
In all other cases - there's no guarantee that a cat or dog will be a lap-pet, some will, some won't. With dogs, you can get a purebred easier and there's more predictability in their personality. Some will play catch or fetch, (including cats) and some will just stare at you.
The level of destruction is equal, unless you declaw the cat, which is very controversial.

I think a cat is just better than a dog beacuse , you provide less care , less food, less space and more fan with a cat than with a dog.

CATS, there so independent you can leave them home and not worry about them, unlike a dog which needs your undivided attention. A cat could care less. Plus there more agile in my opinion and more mystic.
Cats rule, dogs drool.

Tht is a really tough question .My answer is doggies. some dogs are really cute while some cats are too but still id choose coz dogs are more loyal .Cats get too scared.

I love both dogs and cats!!!
However, I am more of a cat-person, because I so like the independence of them.
(LOL, if my cat was doing something he KNEW he wasn't allowed to, like eating my plants...the minute i would enter the room he'd pretend to be interested in something totally different than those plants, but the second he thought I wasn't paying attention anymore, he happily returned to minimizing my plants.
I loved it!!)

Well, from a cat lover, gotta go with cats! They are more cuddly and soft. Much cuter, Very much cleaner, and low maintenance. I just never cared for dogs. They stink and they are dirty and require cleaning up after too much. High Maintenance. If that's what you like, go for it!

I would prefer a dog or cat, My laberdoodle does not shed because he hypoglycemic. My poodle sheds a little bit I have a cat and she sheds. I guess it all depends if you want a cat or dog that sheds.

Dogs ....they come when you call them...not when they feel like it like cats do...
