Adding Albums from Collection - no Track or Album names?

I have started to add my CD collection to my Ipod but most of them are appearing in iTunes/ipod with no album or track names - these cds are anything from 1 year to 10 years old and are 'genuine' and not 'copied' cds. Is there a setting or something on iTunes that automatically picks these up from the CD. Some are OK but most are missing. Cheers.

Only some newer CD's and some pirate CD's have track names digitally written onto the disc. I think that if the names don't come up automatically, you just have to type the names in yourself.
