She doesn't want to tell my putor away but she does want to be able to trust that I'm not getting up in the middle of the night and sneeking on but just using it on sundays. I really want to stop too and i'm Christain so I don't want to lie to my parents. It's making my life hard too cause I find it hard to get out of bed and of to school some mornings cause i been up so ridiculously late. Mum wants me to think of a punishment for me that will stop me disobeying her, she doen't want to take away my computor cause i need it for study, she just wants me to stop using it at the wrong times and she wants me to help her think of a punishment so i understand that shes not just being mean. I suggested i could do more chores but she said she knows i don't mind doing chores. If i can't think of anything then it will have to be standing silent in the corner for the same amount of time i been cheating same as when i was younger. Any ideas cause i'm afraid of going back to standing in the corner.

I think it takes courage to admit that you have an addiction to the computer. Why don't you go to the library and get some good books to read. Is your computer in your bedroom? If so have it taken out and whenever you have the urge to go on it for reasons other than homework go take a walk or do hard exercise but do anything constructive to replace the time spent on it. I would talk to your mother and tell her you know you have a problem and that punishment is not going to take the desire away. I think if she honestly knows your sincere the two of you can work it out. I pray you can. God Bless.

There is so much more to life than the internet or computers. When I was your age, I was outside all the time or being creative some how not on the computer all the time. Get involved in crafts or some other hobby. Don't waste your life sitting in front of a box. Your computer shouldn't be in your bedroom, it should be in the kitchen or dining room where you can't just sneek on. Tell your Mom you want to move it....this is very mature & will help with your problem.

I used to have the same problem with chatting. I would rather sit at home and chat on the net than go out with my friends! i said but here are my friends. where i am it is expensive to be online for a long time, so my folks eventually said i would have to pay the phone bill. and man it was high. so i would time it and say ok 30 mins is a weeks pocket money. or maybe read a book? or have friends stay over? trust me, we used to do other things before the net was invented. cant remember what, but we did!

You need to find some self control and stay off the Internet when you are not suppose to be, your mother sounds like a very loving mother. As far as your punishment, I am really not sure on this, sorry, I can not help you with that part. Good luck to you and God bless

Your mom would really respect you if you told her all of this! Ask her to take the wire off the computer at night so you won't be tempted to use it. God will reward you later for this sweetie!
