I have a fairly large house and it's hard to keep up with since I work. Should I have someone come in once in awhile? Anyone else ever do this? What should i look for in a cleaning service?

I work and I have a cleaning company once a week, They do all of the heavy cleaning, so on weekends I just have to worry about laundry, They will even load up the dishwasher if you request..... I sat down with the company and told them what I expect.. and I lucked out. Go with a reputable company and get references....

What to look for in a cleaning service:
1. Bonded and insured. (ask for proof.)

2. Employees have passed a criminal background check

3. Satisfactory rating with the Better Business Bureau.

4. A written "What we do...what we don't do" from the company. (No misunderstandings.)

5. References upon request including PHONE NUMBERS of other customers that you can call.

Some companies are very flexible regarding what they will do or not do. Others have a standard checklist--don't even ask for anything else.

I have a friend who just has someone come in to do the bathrooms and the floors. She does the dusting, vacuuming, bed making, etc. herself.

Hope this helps.

A cleaning service is a great idea. Then you don't have to worry about the hard stuff. Relax and enjoy.

Anyone that can afford it should have a cleaning service. Just know what you want them to do and make sure that the work is done to your standards.

If you can find someone who's honest and does a good job cleaning, then by all means have them come. It will help you a lot.

Good luck!
