the PS3 actually cost a lot more to make than what they are selling it for, its the price of all these features. and like the xbox 360 they will have to sell a great deal just to break even, then they can start to profit. its mostly the games that they get profit on.
its still quite upsetting tho isn't it!! i want one but ill just have to get a 360

PS3 is expensive because of all of the new technology available in it. It is loaded up with a Blu-ray disc player, wireless capabilities, and has some of the most powerful graphic processors on the market, not to mention that it is aimed at the high-definiton crowd of people. So you have to expect it to be expensive. Come to think of it, the price is pretty good, becuase some companies would sell such an advanced gagdet, for thousands of dollars. And besides its worth the money.

That sounds like it's about the same price that the XBox 360 started at. It's always been the method of sales for these kind of products to start the price high since demand is greatest when it's first released. Especially since it's right before the Holidays. Do not expect the price to decline until after the Holidays when demand declines.

you know, there is a cheaper £350 version but apparently not as fast or something but anyway. Because it includes too much updated software, i think that the console was aimed at rich boys. it includes some kind of blue laser thing that reads discs. Still, should be £350 topps

Anything that is new in the market is so darn expensive! Especially electronic stuff.... But in fairness SONY is really a good brand and trusted for years for product quality, performance and durability.

i'm an American and that i think of that PS3 is low priced once you think approximately each and every little thing it does. As for persons who think of its too high priced they are mostly the variety of persons who do no longer desire to maintain up and earn it. people are extremely lazy and think of each and every little thing ought to truly be surpassed to them. it somewhat is why a lot of our industry is getting sent to different international places. An American needs $20 funds an hour to tutor a screwdriver jointly as different international places will do an identical paintings for $8 funds an hour. people have priced their way out of their very own paintings and thanks to this our financial equipment sucks. As for PS3, its "low priced". people merely desire to whinge approximately each and every little thing.

the reason it´s so expensive is because it´s a blu-ray player aswell as a hole new console but the main reason is the blu-ray technology as stand alone blu-ray plyers cost about 400-800 quid and because it´s sony ripping people off

The price of this will drop just like the XBOX 360. There will be something wrong with it and the price will just shoot down!

It's always like that when something new comes out- it's their chance to get people used to a new price point. When CDs came out, they were twice the price of tapes for a technology that was probably cheaper to produce.
