As long as Mr. Sharad Pawar or BCCI do not complaint to ACB or ICC, there will be no question of punishment. Anyway ACB have stated that they are investigating the matter and we can expect apology coming from Ricky Ponting very soon.

Its part of the Aussie culture to be rude. Let me ask you do you think they will apologise? I remember watching a match between aus and sa. Sa batted first and Some1 was caught the it looked like the ball bounced just before the fielder. Before the umpire could say anything the batsman asked the fielder(silly point) if he caught him. The fielder said yes and the batsman walked. Aus bats brett lee gets caught in the slips the umpire doesnt make a move and the south africans are celebrating. but lee stands the fielder( jacque rudolph) told lee that he caught him but lee refused to walk.

Interesting though on the replay lee was out and the sa batsman wasnt.

So when the icc has its meeting with all the captains ricky ponting suggests that in controversial catches they should take the word of the fielder. Needless to say no one accepted his proposal.

Definitely, they should apologise to Mr. Pawar. Though they were very excited, cricketers should never forget how to behave as Sachin Tendulkar rightly pointed out. These situations should be avoided and the code of conduct must be followed.
