This is very simple

Ca+H2O -> Ca(OH)2 + H2

The reactant has
1 atom of Ca
1 atom of H
2 atoms of O

The product has
1 atom of Ca, ok
2 atoms of H
2 atoms of O

Just put a coefficient of 2 in the water (H2O)

So the chem. eqn becomes

Ca+2 H2O -> Ca(OH)2 + H2

That's it.
The equation is already balance

to answer the balacing type question ....first check the no .of oxygen atoms in lright hand side and if u wind defficient left then add the no of defficient oxygen atoms then see the hydrogen atoms finally check the water molecules are balancing the reauired oxygen and hydrogen atoms....the rest balncing will be so on/...for ur que the answer is
Ca+2H2O---->Ca(OH)2 + H2
