I think the whole premise of South Park is that it questions our values by being none discriminating in it's humour. It's actually a really useful debate tool as well as being very funny, no subject matter is taboo and we make things taboo (such as not being able to say anything bad about the character of someone deceased) then we stop thinking intelligently. The whole point of good art forms is get people thinking and talking about subjects they would otherwise brush over or steer away from. South Park certainly does this!

I have to admit, when the Steve Irwin thing came out, my husband and I cringed a little, but offended?? No!! I do not, under any circumstance let my children watch it, but we roll with laughter. If something strikes us as sensitive, well, we don't have to watch......but we do!!! The worst thing that Matt and Trey did was take Kenny off the air for the season, thank goodness they brought him back, now we just have to see more Butters!!!! It's a show, it's never been in good taste, and hey, change the channel if you don't like it!!! Have a great day!!

I have never cared for Southpark, but the Steve Irwin joke was in poor judgement. But it did what they wanted it to do - got the show talked about on most of the entertainment shows, and here on Answers!
Southpark is a show for mature adults, that most mature adults give a pass to because they are mature. I just don't find it humorous. Never have.

10 years in television is an eternity. I think Matt and Trey are getting tired and are doing outrageous things just to show they can still be outrageous, but without good reason (although there may never be a good time to do Steve Irwin joles)

Im stuck in korea and can't see the newer ones. I just got season 8 on dvd with the walmart episdoe, the goobacks, and
awesom-o. I think the show has always been at the edge going too far, perhaps they have finally gone a little far, but I would still love to see those episodes

Gone too far...not yet.
Steve Irwin...almost too soon
Ike and the teacher...okay that's odd even for them
Cartman ultra clever and Devious...Go back a few season to the Scott Fenternin episode where Cartman chopped up the guys parents and made them into Chili. That has just been hte natural evolution of the character...not as sudden as it migh appear...IF you rewatch the last couple of seasons you will see what I mean.

Oh lets not go fanatic now, it's a satirical comedy. It is supposed to be edgey and raw. Lets face it, if you don't like it, don't watch it. The show is not for kids, it's for adults. If kids watch it, that is their parents responsibility. Just say no to sensorship!!
Or we could get a bunch of other fanatic morons together, and burn down the studios and cut off Matt and Treys' heads.
OWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW, KILL THEM ALL FOR INSULTING OUR BELOVED STEVE!

I think the Steve Irwin thing was too soon, especially when it was only just over a month ago! Imagine if it was your dad that had just been killed and people were actually taking the piss?
