(8 - 2)/5 = 1.2 m per sec per sec or 1.2m/s².

You have final speed minus starting speed divided by the time it has taken to reach the change in speed so you can apply the formula (Ve - Vi)/t.

1.2 m/s/s (metres per second per second)

Formula:
change in velocity over time

(8-2)/5 = 6/5 = 1.2

A = change in V / Time

A = (8-2) / 5

A = 6/5

A = 1.2m/s2
