Probably not for Harvard/Princeton/Yale/Penn, but most likely for Brown and Dartmouth. It depends on what you want to major it and how strong you interview and class rank and where you go to school (location in the country, public/private/magnet...).

Something you might want to consider is looking into liberal arts schools, especially if you are planning on going to graduate school. Williams and Amherst are much better than Harvard. They are much better preparation for grad school because they only focus on the undergrad and you are considered to be a top candidate for the Ivies. I am currently studying abroad at Oxford and 85%+ of the Americans here are from Liberal Arts schools, while I have only met 2 from Ivies.

Good Luck!

Wanting to get 2000-2200 on your SATs is not the same as getting it.

At Harvard, 75% of the class has 2120 or better and 90% of students are in the top 10% of their class. At Penn, the SATs are about the same and the average GPA is 3.83. 2000 is slightly below average at Cornell.

Overall, I would say that your scores and grades are slightly below average at the Ivy League schools -- which means you have a chance of getting in.

If you were an American from Westchester County NY, I'd say you had no chance at all (because a lot of students from that area apply). If you were an American from a small mining town in West Virginia, I'd say you have a chance of being accepted at a few of those schools.

One thing you have going for you is that all of these schools want a diverse student body. You don't say where you are in the Middle East -- but if it is a country that is not often represented at these schools, that will increase your chances.

There are several schools in the US that are on the same level as the Ivy League. Duke, Stanford, MIT, Cal Tech and the University of Chicago are better than most of them. You may want to look at them as well.

Good luck.

Just the "basics" of German, huh? Well, I don't know then. Just teasing. Of course you have a most excellent chance. I have been on committees that review such applications. Most children in the U.S. would deeply envy your education, sir. I read something here in the U.S. recently that the ivy league schools are really looking for students like you. I wish I knew what you plan to major in. Just curious. I love watching young people's progress through school. Good luck.
