Sounds interesting and maybe plausible...My ex and I were together for 7 years ( this was over 20 years ago) I got hurt really badly ( he meant to hurt me--damn he was good:))...And there are some hurts in your life that never truly go away..they become less over time..but you still limp a bit...the truth???--no I don't think I could do it either...I guess that means the feelings are still there (I've been with another man for 20 years). Crazy huh? immature? maybe...but the feelings are sometimes too close to the surface.

Well at least he was honest, I guess. We tend to be attracted to the same sort of body type or personality type, so it makes sense that you would be attracted to someone who reminded you of someone you had been in love with in the past.
If it was a failed relationship, it would also make sense to not get involved, its just too weird.

It's an excuse. I've heard it before (and used it sadly, though it was in an online situation and I don't consider an "e-relationship" to be worth anything)
You're gonna get some I'm afraid, best advice is just to take it in your stride remember and at least he didn't just tell you to get lost or something.

good for him (sorry) at least he wasn't using you as a substitute. its a bad idea to start dating someone who looks like your ex. have you noticed people men who've had 4 wives that all look alike..........creepy!
