it contains avagadro number divided by 62 number of molecules. as molecular wt of iodomethane is 62, hence 62gm contain avagadro number of molecules (6.023 X 10^23) 1 gm should contain 6.023X10^23/62 number of molecules

the molar mass of iodomethane should be

CH3I
12+3+127 =142g

mass of sample = 1.00g
no of moles = mass/molar mass
= 1/142 = 0.007

no of molecules = no of moles * avogadros number
= 0.007 * 6* 10 raised to power 23
= 0.042* 10 rtp 23
= 4.2 * 10 rtp 21 molecules

i have approximated to the nearest whole number for the atomic mass of iodine in iodo methane since i do not have a calculator here, i have also approximated avogadro's number it should be about 6.022 * 10 rtp 23

MW of CH3I: 141.9 g/mol
Mole CH3I: 1.00g / 141.9 g/mol = 7.05 x 10^-3 mol
number of molecules:
6.022 x 10^23 molecules/mol * 7.05 x 10^-3 mol
= 4.24 x 10^21 molecules CH3I
