Logic could just be seen as a branch of science called philosophy. Philosophy will not pass the standards of hard science as set down by most scientists, mainly because it can neither be proven nor disproven, but it does still retain many of the qualities found in those sciences.

Philosophy is anchored in tempo-spatial culture as an attempt to answer some of the questions raised by such an existence. Why are we here? What's after death? Anything? Why? etc. As well, logic is an attempt at clearing philosophy of some of the detritus of such an existence. Problems with emotions, opinion, and cultural differences were supposed to be weeded out.
