I wouldn't say 90% of SEO is common sense. It is more like 40%. There is more that goes into optimization than content and tags. I write articles on sEO, run a forum and do a podcast that teaches SEO.

Why yes I do. Actually 90% of SEO is just common sense. Use your keyword liberally in RELATED content. Try to feature your keywords within heading tags as well as meta discription tags. Make sure your image tags include alt and title attributes that include your keywords. When possible, use file names that are keywords as well.
