I thought you have to have a PC. A library may not let you plug into the USB for all sorts of reasons, and even if they did you could only use free downloads 'cos there'd be no facility for paying.

It would be better to chat up a good friend who has a PC and would let you use that.

Yeah you will need a computer to put the songs on your ipod. I've found that if you just buy a cheaper mp3 player it works the same, But it is cheaper.

shouldn't be a problem if your plan is to buy a useless piece of crap that'll just sit around not playing music

how do you expect to transfer music without a computer?
place it next to a cd and hope the music magically flies into the iPod? that's the dumbest thing i've ever heard

That would be like trying to drive a car without gas in it. The computer and iPod go hand in hand!

it will be becuase you need a device that has a USB port to download music onto your iPod, and a computer is the best thing to use for it. I suggest you get a computer, or you can ask a friend to download songs onto it for you when you want more songs
