If you look at the answers that people leave on other questions the Republican minded people seem to be very angry at the audacity to even "ask" such a question.

Because since 9/11 and our invasion of Iraq, Bush has skillfully managed to roll any criticism of him as criticism of our troops into one package. That's what his landing on that aircraft carrier and always walking around in a flight jacket was all about. He worked up our patriotism to a fever pitch after 9/11 but now, 5 years later, his act is wearing thin and the Bush supporters have to be more defensive. Bush keeps doing dumber things for them to have to defend. Invading Iraq with no evidence of WMD's but only wanting to "negotiate" with North Korea when they are waving nuclear missiles in our faces?

Well, we are human. I know, no excuse.

In my case it is the way the questions are asked. Rarely do I see questions posed by Anti-Bush people looking for sincere answers. Normally they ask a question but include some pretty vindictive commentary along with it. They aren't actually interested in the responses from the Pro-Bush responders, they are looking for confirmation of their own opinions. If we attempt to look beyond the nastiness and answer the question asked it is as if our answers are invisible. Which is fine, I've come to expect that.

I can *almost* guarantee you will overlook the responses of the people you asked this question to. I will be pleasantly surprised if you give any consideration to the opposing viewpoints.

It is just the way it is. Pathetic I know, but I've learned not to expect much sincerity or substance from most people here.

PS... I do have to give you a bit of credit though. I've done a bit of homework on your tendencies on these boards. You seem a bit more reasonable than most Anti-Bush people in the way you phrase your questions. I suppose I should Thank You for the chance to respond without feeling like I am totally wasting my time.

For the same reason people that hate Bush attack people that are pro Bush. Seems that people are more inclined to bash the other party than try to come to a intelligent position that both sides can live with

I honestly disagree. try being a Republican and having a real duscussion with a democrat. All they do is attack people who don't agree with them. They can't simply disagree, they have to name call and label people whose views are different then their own. If you don't like welfare then you are a rascist, if you don't believe in abortion you are a sexist Nazi. Try giving a conservitive speech on a college campus sometime and see how far you get. Try being a republican in Hollywood. You'll starve before you get another job after they find out about you. Democrats are the most closed minded people around

That's mostly what popular Republicanism is about: non-issues, thuggish behaviour and minority-bashing.. it's two-way, but considering the responses I've seen most of the hate comes from the Republicans. Especially how moderate left policies are 'exposed' as communist + extreme left!

Why do the Bush bashers bash? You want to talk angry just look at some of their questions and answers. I, for one, am tired of being told I am stupid for having a different opinion.

For the same reason the antiBush people do the same.

As an Englishman I'm amazed at all the muck slinging you yanks do at your politicians and their supporters.

because pro bush by definition is pro-offense. pro the idea that the only way forward is to deal with issues as the enforcer who will not be beaten.
