I heared that hurricanes are always given women's names and taiphoons men's names why is this? don't tell me that they are more destructive that's why they're named after women :)) there is a scientific explanation for it.
and also what is the difference between the two?

1) The only difference is where they are in the world as they are different words for severe tropical cyclones.

HURRICANE - North Atlantic Ocean, the Northeast Pacific Ocean east of the dateline, or the South Pacific Ocean east of 160E

TYPHOON - the Northwest Pacific Ocean west of the dateline

2) Not all hurricanes are given girls names, they alternate between male & female - and having been in the Caribbean when Hurricane Georges struck I know damn well that it's not just the ones named after females that are destructive
