Hi you can use gotaas,mirrors,useless bangles ,torn peices of clothes ,piping etc.
Paint the pots with variation of colours and then you can yse any of the mentioned thing to decor them.
You should use fabric colours or the pastels whichever you prefer but dont try to imitate any scene over the pot coz it looks very stupid .
