I wish it were...so the true majority would be represented....Currently...mostly white and wealthy decide for all of us...I fall in to the category but still hate what it means....

No!!
What should be compulsory is that business allow their workers time to vote! Many polls are closed before a person leaves for work and after they return home!
And talk about ill-informed! Straight tickets should not be allowed! That truly is ill informed!!

If you want to live in the country the least thing you can do for your country is to go and vote. Most ppl who do not vote are the poor. So if you say no you want to keep the right to vote for the rich only and the lobby system which say no to such laws

Absolutely NOT. We already have too many people voting who are more concerned with who's going to win American Idol or what Suri Cruise looks like than they are with Islamic terrorism or the illegal invasion.
To start with, if a person can't name their two state senators but they can name the winner of any season of Survivor, thy should be dis-qualified from voting.

I wish more people would vote, but they shouldn't be forced to. We have the freedom to ignore the political process to our heart's content. It wouldn't be right, in America, for people to be forced to vote if they don't want to.

Not unless I woke up in some other world today. We are still free to choose whether or not to vote.

Thats the beauty of freedom.
You fight to get the opportunity to voice your opinion in government, and when you succeed you don't bother.
(of course then they turn and complain that so and so got elected!!!)
Get up and vote but it should no be forced

voting is neither a right nor a privilege. it is a responsibility, but we live in "free" country that gives us the option of exercising that..
