I would suggest an epoxy resin glue rather than superglue which tends to be too brittle.

Super glue Was invented for first aid in one of the wars ( Korean I think) but it would certainly depend on the crack. It may need to be left open to drain and heal. You might be able to find a breeder or enthusiast willing to help

You must must must take him to the vets - money shouldn't be a concern when a pets welfare is at stake. A cracked shell can often cause infection and can also puncture internal organs. Superglue is NOT an option - would you superglue yourself if you cut yourself????? If you really can't afford the vet fees then contact an animal welfare charity (uk - RSPCA or PDSA) they can often provide FREE vet services if money really is an issue.

He needs the vet as chemicals in the glue might hurt him, try calling your local vet to ask advise, If you really can't afford to take him try the pdsa, they hepl with the cost or pay all off it for you.

They use super glue to seal wounds where stiches might scar...on humans. Turtle might be sensitive to the petroleum contents though...found this website that might help!

There is a code of conduct that is available for those people who cannot afford to pay, in extreme cases if you are one of those people your local RSPCA will do the repairs for nothing on receipt of proof that you are unable to pay.
