Firstly talk to your lender if you cannot meet your
mortgage payments – they will have a set
procedure for dealing with your case.

State benefits may be available but may cover
you only after an initial waiting period; for
example:

You won’t qualify if you have a joint mortgage
and only one of you loses your income; Y

You won’t qualify if you have savings of more
than £8,000;

You may only qualify for help nine months
after you become unemployed (unless you took
your mortgage out before October 1995);

Payments will only cover the ‘interest’ part of
the mortgage; and there is a limit on the amount of mortgage
that qualifies.

I assume you don't have a payment protection policy since you're asking. Unemployment benefit has nothing to do with your home ownership. If you're really struggling and can't get a job soon, the best step is to speak with your mortgage lender. They may agree to convert your mortgage to an interest only payment in the short term. If push comes to shove, put the house up for sale yourself. They cannot reposess the property if you have it on the market for a fair price.

You shouldnt loose your house. You should ask for information on this from you local job centre. Im not too sure but i think you have to pay something towards your mortgage the housing benefit will only pay so much. Telephone your local job centre and speak to someone about this if your concerned. Good luck with finding employment in the future x

I dont think you will lose your house, I believe that they will pay your mortgage (or part of it) for a set amount of time although I am not sure how long that is. There may be an insurance in your mortgage agreement that the company will either cover your payments or freeze them for a certain amount of time.
Speak to the citizens advice bureau, they will be able to give you more information.

I think you can claim help to pay your mortgage instead of housing benefit. but it's only for a couple of months so you'd need to find a job quickly. Good luck.

Have you got mortgage repayment protection? If yes, then subject to conditions you can claim on that.

No you won't loose your house because you are claiming Job seekers, because you will be trying to pay the mortgage,

If you don't have mortgage repayment protection, speak to your mortgage company as they may arrange something (payment break, switch to itnerest only) for a short period.

of course you took out the insurance, so that your mortgage gets paid if your unemployed, and that insurance will require you to br claiming unemployment benefit, so you are more likely to keep it if you go unemployed.

unless you decided to save a few pennies and not take out the insurance, in which case you need a job PDQ.

I was under the impression that DWP can pay the interest on a mortgage for a short period if JSA or I.S has recently been claimed.

No you will not lose your house if you claim benefits- and apply for food stamps while you are at it. Every last bit helps. The red cross helps with house payment assistance too I think. And try Modestneeds.org, they help with bills under up to 1,000 dollars.

And
Look at these: the last one can make you more than 1000 per month if you refer people, but if you do nothing, you still make 1000 per month, it really works for you, all you have to do is relax.
