Almost always - ignorance IS bliss

2006-11-06 22:20:14 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

I think so, "Ignorance is bliss" right? But I read somewhere that scientific studies show that many bright young people are actually very happy and social. That changes as you get older. I disagree with it though. If that scientific study is true then what does that say for all the quiet ones? I don't think that it has so much to do with your happiness or how social you are. Some people don't acknowledge their own intelligence and the power they could gain from it ("knowledge is power") and their happy and social. Quiet, intelligent, people kind of... absorb knowledge. Not that being social or happy is a barrier to it. Anyone can be bright and happy, even if ignorance is bliss. Ignorance seems wonderful once you've had a glimpse of the real world, but then again, ignorance is nothing to strive for.

I think hapiness is mostly derived by being a product of your environment but I do believe that people who aren't so bright worry less and in turn are happier.

Yes, I generally believe that to be true, and I sometimes find myself wishing that I myself were more naive so that I could just live my life, la tee da... But I still wouldn't trade anything for my intelligence if I actually had the choice. Feeling smart makes me feel happy, and if people treated me like I was stupid I doubt that I'd feel very good about myself.

I don't know if emotions play a part in intelligence, I would think that the there would be less stress in the decision process, and less complication. I would also think that they approach matters, an issues in a much simpler fashion. So Watson I do believe my own deduction would have to be yes.

Well, to me smart is one who knows how to be happy. In that sense, I do agree that people who are bright and think highly of themselves are not quite smart. On the contrary, people who do not pose to be all that bright may well be smart enough to know what matters, for instance majority of girls!!

From my own personal experience, I do think that intelligent people enjoy life less and worry about things more. Extremely intelligent people are even worse, they have difficulty just having normal relationships, like scientists, who can be very shy and some never speak to another person (like Isaac Newton).

Of course not! What would being able to figure out a long list of IQ-type questions have to do with happiness? Both sides of the bell curve are about just as happy.

yeh, i do think that actualy.
because bright people often think to much, theyre brain works without them wanting it to so they dont have time to chill out much. they arnt allowed to chill you could say.
they often take things seriously.

i am told by my family im clever. however its a prob for me. sometimes my brain just wont shut down. i do way to much thinking.
and they laugh as well, because when it comes to little simple stuff sometimes i dont get it right. i think it cant be that eay and my brain starts thinking up another more difficult way.

so yeh, some r happier than the clever ones.

Ah, them lucky ignorant!

I do not implement any sort of a concrete fact stating life bears itself in harship. The ideology is simple.

One who bears no sort of acquaintence to the object and its characteristics, is inclined to fabricate his views upon the term (life). One is also inclined to develop an array of imagery that soothes the individual in its utmost. He will develop a positive philosophy.

Truth bears itself in such simplicity of abstruseness. I am condemned to answer your query out of spontaneous serenity, I bear at the moment.

One can decipher an infants pallors, responsible to their ignorance to the 'reality' as they call it. One can decide to forge his own sphere of fantasies or be executed to the truth. Both the decisions have their resplendence as well as graveness.

Remember, those who live the happiest, have the weakest memory. ;)

Yes, being stupid has many benefits, you can blame an aweful lot on "Stupidity", I should know ! Whats REALLY funny to me, are those people that NEVER make a mistake, You'll never hear "Holy sh-t, did I F-ck up" ever come out of their mouths (I say it at least 2x a day), thats why when it does happen to them, I laugh my a-s off !
